The Head and Neck Diagnostic Center, located in
Chicago's Loop, is a unique facility dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment and study of Temporomandibular Joint (Craniomandibular) Dysfunction Syndrome
and related disorders. No other forms of dentistry are done at the Center. It
also provides head and neck imaging to the dental and medical professions. Housed
within this comfortable, modern facility is absolute state-of-the-art diagnostic and
treatment technology, including the very latest in computerized
robotic imaging equipment and computer diagnostic equipment
provided to the patient by a skilled, caring staff which really believes that the patient
is the reason for the existence of the Center, not the obstacle to overcome.
The treatment provided by the Center is non-surgical.
In general, we have found that only a very small percentage of these problems respond well
to surgical approaches. In those cases that surgical consultation is desirable,
appropriate referrals are made.
The mission of the Head and Neck Diagnostic Center is to serve, not
only patients in need, but to serve the dental and medical community by providing a
resource to which to refer patients with these sometimes confounding and lifestyle
crippling pain syndromes.
At the Center we see primarily four categories of patients:
- Acute patients shortly after onset of symptoms or trauma
- Chronic patients, often after years of suffering
- Chronic patients after multiple unsuccessful attempts at treatment
- Patients who need documentation of traumatic injuries to the
craniomandibular complex
The Head and Neck Diagnostic Center is located in The Pittsfield
building, one of Chicago's most well known medical buildings. It is conveniently
located to public transportation and parking. It is reasonably close (by rapid
transit) to Chicago O'Hare airport and is in the center of hotels of many different price
levels for patients who come to the Center, for evaluation and treatment, from all parts
of the country.
The Center welcomes Self-Referrals as well as referrals from
